The cotton padding that can replace paint booths can also be used to replace the filter cotton typically employed in thousand-filter spray booths; a dry-suction paint filtration system equipped with V-shaped filter paper can serve as an alternative to water curtain booths.
New filter products for paint booths
Product features:
1. The cotton padding used in paint booths can be replaced by filter cotton used in thousand-filter spray booths, and dry-suction spray painting filtration systems equipped with V-shaped filter paper can serve as a replacement for water curtain booths.
2. V-shaped groove design, leveraging the principle of centrifugal force to ensure better filtration of paint mist.
3. The filter paper can accommodate filtration in either the horizontal or vertical direction.
4. Even when the filter paper’s ink-holding capacity is nearly saturated, it can still maintain a certain level of suction power.
5. The filter paper has high rigidity (230 g/m²).
6. Fully automated production ensures the quality of filter paper.

Spray painting dry suction filtration system
★ Wrinkle-type dry filter paper is a new environmentally friendly product used in dry spray booths, ensuring that oil and paint spraying no longer cause pollution.
★ Filtration isn't merely a process of intercepting particles in the airflow through a series of mesh openings that gradually narrow from wide to narrow. Instead, pleated dry filter paper employs another principle— inertial separation technology—which effectively captures overspray beyond the specified range. This technology forces the overspray-laden airflow to change direction repeatedly, causing particles heavier than air to adhere to the paper’s surface rather than being carried away with the airflow. As shown in the figure:
★ Pleated dry filter paper becomes more effective as its saturation level increases—this is the exact opposite of fibrous filter cotton, whose filtration efficiency decreases as saturation levels rise (due to surface clogging).
★ Filtration efficiency up to 98.1%

Advantages of Pleated Dry Filter Paper
1. No movement
The phenomenon of particle re-entrainment is common when using mesh filter cotton for slow dry spraying. The airflow can pull particles that have already been filtered through the cotton mesh back into suspension, resulting in previously settled particles being redistributed into the air and moving around within the operating system. This directly leads to a reduction in filtration efficiency.
Use pleated filter paper. Paint particles will settle in a stationary suspended pocket that is isolated from airflow, thus remaining unaffected by movement. As a result, the pleated filter paper delivers continuous **filtration performance** until it can no longer handle the load.
2. High load-bearing capacity
Due to inertial movement, the sprayed particles will settle inside the pocket and remain outside the range of airflow. The larger the pocket, the stronger the filter paper’s capacity to capture particles. Pleated filter paper features a 6.4-centimeter-deep holding pocket, enabling it to achieve 3 to 6 times the efficiency of other commonly used filter papers on the market.
Why is a high load-bearing capacity crucial?
· For a given known paint application volume, the loss due to settling is relatively small.
· Reduce the frequency of replacing filter paper
· Reduce the total amount of filter paper used
· Reduce maintenance requirements
The pocket structure of pleated filter paper enables its filtration performance to be 2 to 5 times greater than that of conventional expanded or fiberglass filter papers. During the filtration process, even when the filter paper is fully loaded with paint, it can still maintain unobstructed airflow—whereas conventional expanded or fiberglass filter papers would quickly become clogged once they reach their capacity. Pleated filter paper will only become blocked once its loading capacity is completely filled.
3. *Suitable inertial movement
· The V-shaped front wall prevents the rebound effect that might occur during spraying.
· The deep V-shaped back wall is where the main support pocket for the filter paper is located.
· The small holes are designed along the central portion of the lateral surfaces of the anterior and posterior walls, so that the small holes at the rear counterbalance and offset those at the front.
· Pleated filter paper is the only self-supporting filter paper available on the market. Its pleated structure ensures that even without external support, it remains remarkably sturdy—meaning a simplified frame and a streamlined spray booth design. During spray booth maintenance, the exhaust chamber is easily accessible; simply remove the filter paper from the frame.
4. Continuous airflow in the spray booth
A common issue in spray booths is ensuring that air flows evenly throughout the room.
The pleated shape of the filter paper, its evenly spaced tiny pores, and the fact that it’s coated on the side facing away from airflow—all these features offer two key advantages:
· Air flow is evenly distributed across the entire working surface of the spray booth.
· Throughout the entire spray deposition process, air circulation can continue uninterrupted.
All other filter papers will become clogged once their coating surfaces reach saturation. As a result, the airflow will shift from the working area to the peripheral region near the exhaust wall. The reduced air flow around the workpiece decreases the likelihood of atomization and rebound around the workpiece, thereby increasing the rate of nonconforming products.
5. Stability of Static Pressure
Static pressure gradually increases as spraying accumulates, and this has two advantages:
· The sprayer remains in a clean air environment.
· The airflow around the parts to be sprayed remains continuous.
6. Fan pressure requirements
The air pressure requirement for fan systems in spray booths has been reduced. Typically, the air pressure required for wet-type spray booth fans is around 1600 Pa (in cases where no pump is used). This high air pressure can result in a significant amount of paint being forcefully drawn away by the exhaust airflow, leading to unnecessary waste. In contrast, dry-type spray booth fans generally require an air pressure of only 300–500 Pa, which can greatly reduce paint consumption.
User Security Protection
The pleated filter paper structure is less likely to ignite spontaneously when exposed to air-mixed spray paint, unlike paper or fiberglass filters. The pleated filter paper generates minimal compression pressure on the air mixture, making it even less sensitive to spontaneous combustion. The analogy “a closed book is less likely to catch fire than an open one” aptly explains this phenomenon; therefore, in spray booth operations, pleated filter paper offers significantly higher safety.
It is worth noting that, to avoid self-ignition caused by temperature rise resulting from chemical reactions triggered by mixing different types of paint, users should, as much as possible, refrain from using several different paints in the same spray booth. We shall not be held responsible for any consequences arising from such practices. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that mixing different types of coatings or paints on the surface of filter paper will not lead to self-ignition.
